Hello, my name is Brittany. My purpose in creating this campaign is to raise $10,000 as part of the Boston Winter Ball Committee to support The Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation.
The most important part about this fundraiser is the heart behind the mission. My dear friend Corey lost his life two summers ago, at the age of 27, in a tragic accident on Nantucket.
The Boston Winter Ball will pay tribute to Corey's boundless energy, spirit, ability to find good in everybody, “never-quit” attitude, and, most importantly, his passionate support and leadership of many philanthropic causes, particularly those that serve children and young adults.
About the Boston Winter Ball:
The Boston Winter Ball , taking place on February 20th, is an annual black tie event that has established itself as not only one of the most anticipated events on Boston’s social calendar, but also a destination event – with attendees ages 25-40 joining us from all over the country.
The event is not only special to me for the charity that it supports but also for the way in which it instills the foundation of philanthropy in millennials -- no one else is making strides like this for my generation.
Corey was exemplary in his short life when it came to his charitable work, and his legacy of giving back to others continues within the Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation.
Not only was the Boston Winter Ball his favorite event, but Corey was also a vital and tireless supporter of the Boston Winter Ball since its inception, 7 years ago.
We now celebrate Corey's life by organizing the Boston Winter Ball in his honor, and donating all proceeds from the BWB to the Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation, a charity created in his name.
With the support of people like you, Corey’s legacy of giving continues..

Why Am I Offering a Date for Charity?
Firstly, because I know Corey would find it hilarious.
Additionally, I am hoping to further incentivize people beyond their general goodwill in donating to a great charity. I am asking one lucky contributor (selected at random) out on a date.
The location and timing of the date is dependent on the person selected given that travel might be necessary. Yes dinner is on me. Requests are considered.
(Note: date #2 is not guaranteed -- you can also request to not be added to the date pool)

The Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation, funding its mission to support children, families, and faith in partnership with leading institutions and social entrepreneurs. Event proceeds from the Boston Winter Ball will go to the Foundation's initiatives focused primarily on youth health and education:
++ Corey House at Boston Children’s Hospital, with your assistance, will provide needed support to families whose children are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
++ Early Angel Fund, Supporting entrepreneurs by helping them to deliver social betterment programs, the Early Angel Fund embodies Corey’s entrepreneurial and philanthropic spirit.
++ Corey C Griffin Scholarship Fund helps families in need by providing first class education for their children at St. John Paul II Catholic Academy campuses in the Mattapan/Dorchester neighborhoods of Boston.
++ Corey C Griffin Brain Injury Fund has already generated a large impact in medical research, as advancements in one of the world’s leading pediatric head trauma labs have been funded by donations to the Foundation.
