Hi, it's Ethan, writing in the first person (thought this section should be a bit more personal). This show is, honestly, my little baby. The concept for the show came from a low point in my life; in March 2020 I was hospitalised with COVID and dumped by my partner, all in the same week! Naturally, my first response to all this trauma was to cry (a lot). And, if it wasn't for my friends being so supportive throughout this time I would of really crumbled, and who knows, I probably would still be crying about it now. However, to keep my spirits high, I tried to girlboss my way to fame on Tiktok whilst in hospital. After getting my life back on track, improving my health and scrubbing the Internet clean of those cringe videos eventually found myself single in a world of online dating. 

Being newly single in a time where online dating was really the only way to go (thanks COVID<3), my dating world turned crazy! I found myself engaging in some really random and weird conversations, but more importantly, a lot of people were lying to me to try to secure a post COVID date! Now, this could be reflective of my dating standards and the quality of the suitors I seek, but I like to think that it was just the world manifesting this show :) Initially, lying men were the biggest frustration in my life (not that I'm dramatic) BUT after laughing about it with my friends we soon realised a show where people are expecting to be lied too would be top tier content, rivalled only by my top tier cringe hospital TikToks. 

Simone and I set on this idea and developed it further for our second year final project, with it being framed around taking place on Zoom. However, we agreed zoom sucks and for this idea to really gage the light hearted tone and in order to deliver the dramatic and comedic antics, we need some real human interaction! This need for people to be able to see one another and be in the same room lead for us to shelf the idea and save it for a time where we can film with looser or no COVID restrictions. 

That time is now besties! With access to the TV Studio in our own university campus and the creative freedom to create this idea how we see fit (CAMP) now is the PERFECT time to make people laugh, tell a few fibs and maybe find someone a date!
