DASOTA Class of 2014: Honoring Our Passed Classmates
Donation protected
For our 10 year high school reunion for the Class of 2014 from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, we would like to honor the lives of our classmates who are no longer here with us today and their families and friends who love them and miss them dearly. The gift chosen to send the families is a set of poem cards that contain wildflower seeds to be planted that will bloom every year in their honor.
Savannah Goodman, our class valedictorian, a dedicated and talented dancer, and fiercely loyal friend who was a true fighter in every respect of the word. She was known to be kind, tenacious, intelligent and unbelievably strong. Her loved ones still feel her in their corner pushing them forward, and will be inspired by her for the rest of their lives. May we all continue to be #vanstrong
Michael Payton Hooks was an incredible guitarist, a lifelong lover of music and the local band scene, and an avid adventurer. His fun spiritedness is missed by his loved ones and the music community, though he will be remembered for the fantastic music and positive energy that he added to all of their lives.
Savannah Gold was a beloved member of the tech theatre community, using her creativity to be a part of the magic behind the scenes for putting on a spectacular theatre show. Her loved ones say she lived and loved feverishly, and grasped every moment with such fire that it warmed everyone around her. Her love and friendship was so pure it’s rightful her last name would be Gold. She is held in the hearts of all who were touched by her light.
May we forever remember each of these precious lives that were lost too soon, and may we honor their memory by keeping their name and impact alive. Our hearts and prayers are with the Goodman, Hooks, and Gold families and all who loved these amazing and creative souls. We will always be DASOTA family and their legacy will live on through their art, and through all of us.
Thank you for reading, sharing and contributing.
