Dasher needs us- please help with surgery funds.

Hello. Dasher was dumped 4 years ago by his previous owner. He was a community cat until we moved to our complex 2 years ago. We started feeding him and bringing him in during bad weather. His eye started to look blurry about 8 months ago. Since then, it has become enlarged. Last month, we rushed him to the emergency vet when a blood vessel popped in his eye. He has been living inside with us since, and we plan on keeping him inside. Today, we visited South Texas Veterinary Ophthalmology, and he was diagnosed with glaucoma. Dr. Fritz recommended surgery to remove the eye. His appointment is set for August 28th. We need some help to make this happen. I spent $550 at the emergency vet and $300 today and only have about $250 left in my cat emergency savings. His total for surgery, follow-ups, and blood work will be around $2800. Dasher deserves the very best - he has been through a lot: thrown outside by his previous owner when the novelty of having a pretty cat wore off, left behind when the previous owner moved, being beaten up by another stray, losing more friends that used to look after him when they moved out. He's a member of my family now.
