Dasha's Dream, Send Ukrainian refugee to college
Donation protected
Dasha Shyroka came to the US as a foreign exchange student from Ukraine in Fall 2021. That February Russia invaded Ukraine causing thousands of deaths and the largest European refugee crisis since WWII. Overnight she went from exchange student to refugee, she cannot return home. She's been able to secure Temporary Protective Status that allows her to stay in the United States but does not offer citizenship or any financial assistance.
At 17 years old, Dasha needs financial help to secure her future. Dasha persevered and graduated from Alexandria Area High School with top honors. She speaks five languages and excels academically. She has been awarded the Dean's Scholarship at Gustavus Adolphus College which covers a large portion of tuition but she will still need funds for the rest of the tuition as well as room and board. She plans to study medicine, to return to Ukraine to help her people. She cannot afford college without additional funding of $30,000 per year. Financial help from her family is no longer an option. The war has taken her father onto the battlefield and unemployed her mother.
Will you help us generously accomplish her goal of going to college? And pray for Dasha’s family, and all people of Ukraine? Help us fund Dasha’s Dream.
Dawn Schoborg is Dasha's host aunt.
Jeffery Stuewe is Dasha's host dad here in the United States.
