On March 11th, 2019, Daryl Schmidt suffered a series of strokes that have left him clinging to life. At the young age of 45, no one expected this to happen to a man that care so much for his family. The doctors informed the Schmidt family that he would never walk or talk again.
Fortunately, Daryl proved them wrong; he began to show movement in his right arm and leg as well as some neck movements. Brenda, Daryl's wife spends every day with him and has developed a way for him to communicate with the care providers by moving his eyes. His team of doctors and therapists are surprised everyday at the improvement he is making during their therapy sessions. Since then, Daryl has started to breathe on his own, regained feeling on his left side and is strengthening his right side as well as his neck and head muscles.
As a way to show our support, we set up this page. Between the medical costs and renovations to the home to make it more accessible for him, this will help offset the expenses that have accumulated.
