Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Souls,
As most of you are aware, heaven gain our angel Daryl on Monday, November 27th, 2023. Daryl's departure from this world has left an indescribable void that will be felt by the families and friends were fortunate enough to know him.
Passing at the young age of only 48, he embodied a spirit that was vibrant, funny, and overflowing with love. He was a radiant light, a source of joy, and a beacon of kindness. His infectious smile and gentle heart touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
Daryl was not just a partner to our brother Chris Devers for the last 18 years, but a life companion and soulmate, who is now grappling with the profound grief of losing the love of his life.
Daryl had a natural passion for his sense of style; yen for travel; pleasure of music & trivia; a love of plants and his garden; a joy of cooking; and a flawless knack for entertaining.
In this challenging time, we turn to you, our extended family and friends, to request support for a memorial fund in honor of Daryl on behalf of those he has left behind.
Your generosity will not only help ease the financial burden but will also serve as a testament to the impact Daryl had on the lives of those around him. Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will be a symbol of love and solidarity during this trying time.
The funds raised will be used to help give him the send-off he deserves by creating places of solace and remembrance to commemorate Daryl's beautiful life.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at Hogans Restaurant in King City on Sunday December 17th from 1:30-4:30. Please come join all those who love him and share in his memories and stories.
We aim to place a plaque on a park bench in Toronto, where Chris can take their beloved dog Teddy for walks and find comfort in sitting with Daryl's memory.
Since he was an avid green thumb, we aspire to fulfill Daryl's love for nature by also placing memorial plaques on trees for all to visit and watch Daryl's legacy continue to grow, offering shade in the warm embrace of his memory (IYKYK).
Remaining funds will be dedicated to planting additional trees across Canada in honor of Daryl's passion for environmental advocacy with a goal of at least 48 trees! (And more each year)
Further, Daryl's remains will be taken to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico one of their favorite places. Here, Chris will scattered his ashes, creating a permanent connection to a cherished location they both loved.
Let us come together as a community to celebrate the life of a remarkable individual who left us too soon. Daryl's spirit will live on in our memories, and your support will help ensure that his legacy continues to shine brightly.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
With heartfelt gratitude,
