First of all let me introduce myself as Abby, a close friend of the family from Darwen who’s 11 week old bulldog puppy, Wilma, was sadly taken from her home in a house burglary and was later found hung from their own gate with curtain wire!!
It pains me to say that Wilma is no longer with us and died at the scene due to asphyxiation. I can still picture her little claw marks on the wooden gate from where she must have been struggling to try and break free.
The past 3 days have been extremely hard for the family with Wilma being missing, the car being stolen and their family home being ransacked from top to bottom and then THIS!
The worst part was hearing the kids screaming in the background as I was on the phone trying to understand what the distraught Mother was explaining to me. It was a Horrifying ordeal to listen to and I imagine ten times worse for the kids to see.
Thank you all so very much for your thousands upon thousands of shares and from the bottom of my heart you are all truly fantastic. Your support was very humbling and the family want me to reiterate how grateful they are that everybody pulled together and tried to bring Wilma home safely. Now Wilma is home, not in body but in soul, in our hearts and in our spirits, she is with us.
If we can get just £1 from a fraction of the people who got involved this would make the world of difference for the family who have literally lost everything.
The Children did nothing to deserve this horrific act of malice and I think it would be amazing if we could all chip in a little for the greater good.
Nothing we do can replace Wilma and the love and affection she brought with her, but we can at least try.
Thank you once again for all your kind messages of support at this very tough time.
