Darryl Wood’s tractor accident
Donation protected
Before I could even start typing my tears are streaming down. I never thought i would be in this position to ask for help, but no one ever does. My strong, brilliant, talented husband was on a tractor on Friday 9/17 when a gear failed and caused the tractor to tip over a small bank crushing my husband underneath it. Only by a miracle he survived but it was EXTREMELY close. It took paramedics and firefighters almost an hour to get to him because of the remote location. He had to be taken by life flight twice to receive the care he needed. We will be at the trauma center in Spokane for a month minimum and a rehab facility (hopefully closer to home) for even longer. He has broken bones everywhere possible ranging from the top of his neck to the middle of his thighs, he’s undergoing multiple surgeries to correct a severed femoral artery, hip replacement, broken femur, trauma to his kidney and the doctors are doing their best to keep his lungs from collapsing due to 8 broken ribs. His pelvis is literally broken in half down the middle and we’re praying the kidneys and liver recover on their own to avoid dialysis. Those that know us know that he and I are both small business owners. This accident will forever change our lives and for us and our businesses to survive through Covid felt like a win, boy was I wrong. I’ve never judged and I’ve always tried to donate when I can when people do go fund me’s but it’s incredibly hard to do it for yourself or loved one. With my tears streaming down and the sound of all these beeps and machines I have to push my pride aside and ask for your help. Even just prayers and well wishes help so so much. I’m so unbelievably grateful that he’s alive and I’m geared up and ready for this new adventure we’re on but I can’t even begin to wrap my head around these upcoming expenses. Thank you for reading. Thank you for praying. Thank you for being people we know and love ❤️-Kate
