On September 13th, our friend and family member Darrin Matthews suffered a massive heart attack that nearly took his life, not just once, but multiple times. Darrin’s heart stopped, and more than once, doctors and nurses fought desperately to bring him back. Since that day, Darrin has been fighting for every breath, and he is still in the ICU, facing one of the toughest battles anyone could imagine. On top of the heart attack, Darrin also suffered multiple strokes, making his road to recovery even steeper.

Darrin is a devoted father, partner, son, and friend. His partner, Lori, his 15-year-old son Grayson, and his daughters Morgan and Courtney are by his side, along with his mother, Ginny. This crisis has left Darrin’s loved ones clinging to hope, praying for a miracle, and bracing themselves for a long, uncertain road ahead.

The emotional toll is brutal. The financial burden? Even worse. Insurance will not cover every need, Darrin is going to need long-term care, intensive rehab, therapy, home modifications, and ongoing support.

Right now, Darrin can’t work. Lori is holding the family together while Grayson, Morgan, and Courtney try to stay strong for their dad. Ginny is doing everything a mother can, but it’s not enough to face this crisis alone.
