If you are able, save a place for them inside you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call this war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

A kind soul, Darrian left this world a better place because of his actions. As caring as he was outspoken, Darrian quickly made friends with those around him. To be in his presence was to be in his grace. On behalf of his family and with his memory in our hearts, we are asking for donations to help alleviate the burden on Darrian’s family for funeral arrangements, costs, and transporting our brother's remains back home to Alabama. DDY gave his prime serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, as a government contractor, and as a volunteer at the VA hospital in Salt Lake City. Proud of serving in all these institutions, his most recent role as a Whole Health Coach at the VA hospital might have been the most rewarding. Darrian was proud to help other veterans through Whole Health, especially those beset with similar health issues. Until his last days, Darrian was of service to others. If a man needed $100.00 and Darrian only had $100.00, he would provide that man the total $100.00. He was/is a brother to those of us who served with him in the United States Marine Corps. He was/is a son, grandson, brother, nephew, and uncle to more than one family. His life was one of service and kindness to those he loved. However, it was his grace to those that he did not know that truly set him apart. Darrian took care of others, now it is time for us to take care of Darrian.
