Darren Roodt

Friends, on Feb 21, 2023, Darren Roodt (age 40) suffered a tremendous medical emergency. He was not feeling well so he returned to the hospital where he works and checked himself into the emergency room. Sadly, while in the ER, Darren collapsed and his heart stopped. The ER team worked relentlessly and was able to start his heart again. But Darren now faces tremendous challenges! As you may know, Darren moved here from S. Africa and is all alone in America. He has faced a lot of difficulties over the last several years but he has been working very hard to rebuild his life. Darren is a dedicated frontline medical worker who worked tirelessly and compassionately throughout the pandemic. In the early days of the pandemic Darren nearly died from Covid himself, but returned to work as soon as he could. Darren is a loving father of 2 beautiful children who adore him.
