Darren Markoff Fund

Hi! my name is Artie Alexander, and I'm Fundraising for the family of my friend and bandmate Darren Markoff.

On October 23, 2022, our beloved Darren left this world. In November of 2021, Darren was diagnosed with esophagus, stomach and colon cancer. To say he fought hard through his treatments would be an understatement.

Through it all, Darren remained a beacon of positivity for not only others struggling with cancer but everyone struggling with life in general.

We all know Darren through either Family, work, social media or his musical talents, and some reading this might not have ‘known' him at all. But here’s the thing, we all knew him or someone like him who shined within our lives so bright they left a unique mark on who we are or want to be.

Losing Darren has been a crushing blow to all of us. Still, most importantly, it has left his most important achievement and the center of his universe, his partner of 20 years, Barbara and their son Brayden, who is 12, without not only their rock but their only natural source of income. They are devastated and left to navigate life without him. Rebuilding their lives won’t be easy, and it will take time and tremendous financial help. After a long year of caring for Darren, Barbara’s primary concern is Brayden now. More than ever, Brayden will need her to be available for his healing and emotional needs.

In the last year of Darren’s life, he could not work while undergoing treatment. That alone has left this family struggling financially, and the burden has grown exponentially. Clothing for a growing boy, household needs, rent, schooling for a new career, therapy for the tremendous loss, and unpaid medical bills add to this ever-increasing burden of life after Darren.
