Darren Landers’ memorial and family fund
Donation protected
On Saturday June 11th, our family was forever changed. That morning, Darren had become suddenly ill and was rushed to the hospital where they found he had suffered a stroke. While he was there, he had a 2nd and final stroke. After numerous procedures, MRIs, scans and tests it was determined that he no longer had any brain activity and would not survive independently from the multiple machines and medications that were keeping him alive. His wife, Ruby, made the impossible decision to help others during this time and keep him in the ICU until the hospital could make arrangements for Darren to be an organ donor for multiple people in need. In this last act, Darren was able to save at least a handful of people, which we think is so fitting for the generous and caring man he was.
He was a father, husband, son, brother and friend and will be dearly missed. As he was only 45 years old, this sudden tragic loss has left his family looking for help from our community to assist with the cost of losing a loved one and getting back on their feet.
This fund was set up by Ruby’s sisters who, for almost 20 years, have thought of Darren as a brother. We greatly appreciate any help we receive and will direct all funds directly to Ruby and Melaena. Thank you for taking time to read this and think of Darren and his family.
