Hi, my name is Angie and I am gathering funds for my awesome brother in law Darren Hurst who lives in Sooke. Darren was first diagnosed with liver cancer last year and underwent life saving surgery removing over 80% of his liver. After what appeared to be a successful surgery Darren was in recovery while undergoing chemotherapy. At his six month scan he and his family and friends learned that the cancer had spread and was told he had six months to live. Trusting his doctors he is continuing with a new more intense chemotherapy to lengthen his life. Darren’s freaking amazing and pitbull of a wife Frances has done EXTENSIVE research and is working with Darren’s doctors and is supplementing chemotherapy with an arsenal of natural medicines; none of which are covered by medical. Darren is a strong, kind, generous, smart, funny and loving man. He would give you the shirt off his back or steal one for you if he had too! He hasn’t had an easy life and really only just begun living it to its full potential a decade ago. He deserves so many more years to enjoy fishing, driving his firechicken , raising his adopted adults sons and loving his beautiful and devoted wife.
