We are raising money for Darren Horger in the hope of seeking alternative cancer treatments. Anyone who knows Darren knows he is one of the most selfless human beings. He will drop anything to help a friend or stranger, yet he is the last person to ask for help. Darren is only 56 years old and has a lot of hunting and fishing to do yet and smiles to keep sharing.

Darren was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer in October 2020. Darren quickly had surgery to remove the tumor and started chemo. Unfortunately, not long after chemo started, Darren also suffered a stroke. His cancer progressed to Stage 4 shortly after the first six months of chemo. Since being diagnosed with cancer, Darren has undergone 17 cycles of chemo with no positive response. Darren also has had another major surgery to try and remove a new tumor. His cancer is extremely aggressive, with two new tumors recently developing in January and March 2022. For many people, chemo for colon cancer is a very effective treatment. Unfortunately, Darren continues to receive difficult news; after testing, he was found to have a rare gene mutation that prevents chemo from being successful. As difficult as this is to say, Darren's primary option for treatment is clinical trials and alternative medicine that's not yet well known or proven. He does have the option to do chemo, but not with the favorable success rate we'd hope for and the additional risk of another stroke.

We know that God has done miraculous things and continue to pray for a miracle to take place for Darren. However, Darren is not one to give up. Despite being weak, exhausted, and in pain, he continues to fight every day. We pray that God will bring forth more opportunities for treatment and greatly appreciate our friends, family and others for taking the time to read this.
