Moving Forward: Help Us Find Our Peace

Hi, we're Darren and Victoria, and we're reaching out to our friends and community for support in the new year. In 2024, we've faced financial hardships, emotional struggles, and many challenges that have made it incredibly difficult to move forward in our current situation. I have been out of work for most of 2024 due to a car crash that took much longer to heal from than expected. Victoria has also been out of work for most of the year, finding it really hard to not only secure a stable job, but to pull themselves out of a deep depression spiral. What’s really kept us going is the support and solidarity we have had with each other as two queer latinx people in a majority white city.

After much thought and planning, we’ve decided that relocating to Nevada is the fresh start we really need. With us both having friends and family out there in a thriving latinx community, we will have the support we're lacking here in buffalo. It’s not just about a change of scenery but about being able to rebuild our lives, find new work opportunities, and heal from the stresses of this past year.

We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to cover moving costs, travel expenses, and setting up a new home. Any donation, no matter how small, will be a big help.

This past year has been incredibly difficult, but we are resilient and ready for change. With your kindness and support, we can begin this fresh start with hope and the stability to build a better future.
