Darrell’s Emergency Quadrupled Bypass, Age 41
My husband, Darrell Weston suffered a heart attack while visiting his sister on March 31st in Las Vegas, NV. Darrell traveled from Minnesota to Las Vegas to comfort his sister being she expressed not wanting to be alone on their fathers birthday. Their father passed away November 2020.
During Darrell’s stay he experienced what he thought was heart burn in his chest, but the pain grew gradually and more painful each day. When the pain became too much to bare, and the feeling of numbness filled his arm, he was taken to the emergency room. Test were done, and he was told he was having a heart attack. Never in a million years would we have thought this would happen, being he’s only 41 years old.
After testing, Darrell was then transported by ambulance to another hospital with a cardiologist. Upon arrival by ambulance to the new hospital, test were taken. When the results of the heart attack came back, he was told he suffered from 4 clogged arteries and a emergency quadruple bypass (open heart surgery) had to be performed.
The surgery was performed on 4/1/21 and took 8 long hours. Everything went well, but his heart has suffered some damage from the heart attack. He is currently in ICU, stable, but he has a long road ahead of him to recover.
Darrells wife, Veronica Weston is currently in Vegas by his side. They are unable to travel back to Minnesota until he is healthy enough and recover. Being away from home this long, most definitely wasn’t in their plans financially. And to have such a tragedy happen while miles away from home doesn’t make it any better. They also have two teenage boys back home to think about (Darrell Jr 15 & Jaylin 17 years old).
We are asking those who can to donated what they can to support. The funds will be used for shelter, transportation, dietary needs (food), medication and medical supplies during their stay in Vegas. It will also help with bills and children’s needs back home until Darrell is has the approval to travel.
Those of you who know Darrell know how kind, loving, friendly, and supportive he has always been to others.
We are asking that anyone who can support them, as the family is facing a devastating reality and it has changed their lives drastically. We thank you for your consideration, and support during this unbelievable time.
