Medical Bills - Darrell & Dixie Hunt

For the last year and a half Darrell has been receiving treatment for a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. Darrell and Dixie have been spending quite a bit of time away from the farm, the construction business, and the Bean Farm, traveling to Portland's OHSU Hospital. Darrell has been hospitalized multiple times, including two surgeries, and eight chemotherapy treatments, all with their various side effects, and restrictions.
Although Darrell has insurance, the medical bills are still piling up, with copays, deductibles, and the constant fight with the insurance to keep them from cancelling or restarting Darrell's plan. All of this started over again in 2019, they are currently in Portland having another surgery. They have made dozens of trips, sometimes driving all night, after working all day, or driving all night just to get home and have a couple hours rest before starting a new day at one of their businesses.
All the while Darrell and Dixie's commitment to their friends, family and businesses is inspiring. They continue working tirelessly to ensure their customers' needs are always met. When their community or church come calling for help, whether donation of time or skill, Darrell and Dixie are usually the first to arrive and never waiver in their commitment to give back to those around them.
Darrell and Dixie are so thankful for all of the support from family, friends, medical staff, and strangers during this trying time. They are also very thankful for friends, in the Portland area, who have been able to host them while away from home. Darrell and Dixie have never hesitated to reach out and help someone in need so we are asking for your help now, to ensure their medical bills and travel expenses do not become an overwhelming burden.
