Darrell Shambaugh Memorial Bench

We are having a memorial bench installed at Afton Forest Preserve where Darrell liked to bird so much. We've contacted the Forest Preserve district and because Darrell input so much information for that site, the forest preserve personnel knew him and even responded "Yes a bench at Afton would be a nice memorial , one of his favorite places". The location on the south side (on the berm between the two wet lands) has been approved, and the quote from Doty & Sons estimates 60-90 days for completion.

We will be planning a Memorial Walk this Fall, after the bench has been installed.
