My name is Gina Ford and I am the sister-in-law to Sherry Ford Powell, Darrell's wife. Our hearts are broken to share that Darrell had a sudden medical event and passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 leaving behind his wife, Sherry, and his two sons - Clay (in the Army stationed in Alaska) and Brad (living at home with them in Searcy, Arkansas). Monday, July 19 was Sherry and Darrell's 40th wedding anniversary.

As many of you know, Darrell served as a police officer with the Jacksonville Sherriff's Office for many years and I have received NUMEROUS requests from his JSO family to set up this account so contributions can be made to help take care of Sherry and Brad. As many of you know, Brad was born with spina bifida and he is in a wheelchair - many of you have met him over the years at various JSO family functions. He is the life of the party and has such a loving personality (like his Dad)! Darrell was his best friend and an active caretaker, so there is work that needs to be done and plans put in place to make sure they function without him day to day.

If you know this family, you know they would never ask for anything, but I created this from the outpouring of love and support they are receiving - and we are beyond grateful!!
