Help a couple living in their van!

Darrell & Nicole need their van repaired!

Darrell & Nicole are down on their luck, living in a run down van in my Vancouver, Canada neighbourhood. We've become friendly.

I worried about them over the  cold winter; brought them food occasionally; did their laundry; invited them use my bathroom to shower (Nicole hadn't had a lie-down bath in years and almost cried when she took one). Their sincere gratitude for any care I showed them was touching and humbling.

Today,  in passing, Darrell mentioned they were trying to figure out how to repair their van. It's not running. Having a working van is essential to finding work.

He wasn't soliciting money. He's never asked for money (or anything for that matter).  This is just a couple who have made some poor decisions; had some hard luck; and are now so far under that it seems impossible for them to get back on their feet.

For privacy reasons, Darrell & Nicole are not their real names. And that is not their real picture. Nicole can't afford a watch or a manicure and Darrell is not nearly that well dressed.

I believe I have a mechanic who will do the work for free. That leaves parts: $2500 is a good start.

Funds raised will go to parts.  Any surpluss (!!) will go directly to Darrell & Nicole.
