Darrell Emile needs a little help from his frends
Donation protected
Hi, David Frisch here, reaching out on behalf of our old friend (and Emerson College classmate) Darrell Emile. You may remember Darrell from his time at Emerson (class of 1982) where he was active in the Mass Communication department.
He did a stint as WERS Music Coordinator, worked on Rockers with Doug Herzog, on The Black Experience with Okuwah Garrett, Frances Diamond, Ritz Harper, and Phillip David March. He had his own late-night show, Modern Music, and worked on Boston Mastermix with Hosh Gureli.
But last December, Darrell got a most-unfortunate diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a cancer of white blood cells that normally produces antibodies. The treatment is a stem cell transplant, a long, painful and trying remedy that's quite tough: First, they completely wipe out your immune system so that the transplant can, hopefully, take hold. Then you must spend 30 - 100 days in complete isolation, since you have – for the time being – no immune system.
It's a really tough road; I've known a few people who've been through it.
And that's why I'm setting this up, and asking for your help on Darrell's behalf (and with his permission, of course.) I know that the world is FULL of worthy causes. If you can find room in your heart and in your finances to make any contribution, it will be appreciated.
You can also reach out to Darrell directly on Facebook; I think he'd appreciate that too.
