Darrell Clingman has been a part of the Dobbs Stanford and Harman family for 16 years. What was his home is in KatyTexas, Northwest of Houston. He felt safe from the onslaught of "Harvey” as he was some distance from the predicted arrival of the hurricane. His wife had left the country to attend a wedding, and Darrell was left alone with their twin boys. We asked and Darrell assured us he was safe - and he was, until the Brazos River a mile behind him - went over the banks and the water rose fast and then faster. He waded with the boys in tow - to his neighbors house next door - a two story home. The water kept rising. Darrell had no working phone. One of his friends in Houston used social media to try to find out how to contact the neighbor where Darrell and his kids had sought shelter. In a few hours, his neighbor was located, and the location was established - not easy, the street signs were under water -and a boat was dispatched and Darrell and family and neighbors were safely on a boat and he and the boys were taken to the Lakewood Church for shelter. He since has been picked up by his cousin whose home was not under water. Darrell said he has lost everything - two cars, his home, the family pictures and possessions and more…. He also said that the television pictures don’t even come close to the devastation.
We all love him and his family - Let's all get behind the Clingman Family and lift him up in this time of need.
