Darrell Adair Liver Transplant

My name is Delbert Adair. I am Darrell Adair's oldest brother. Darrell had his gallbladder removed 35 years ago. During this procedure, the surgeon nicked a bile duct and Darrell has had some liver problems since then. It became worse the last couple of years and on April 15, 2022, he had a liver transplant done at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. The surgery was done by Jeffrey Brink, M.D., a well-known transplant surgeon. Because of the many complications, the surgery took 14 hours. Dr. Brink said it was the most difficult liver transplant he has done. Due to the length of the surgery, his donated liver was damaged. This required Darrell to need a second liver transplant which was done on May 29, 2022. This surgery went well and took only four hours. Darrell is recovering at St. Joseph's hospital. He is getting better but there will most likely be months of recovery. This is why we are having this fundraiser to help with the medical costs. Any amount will be appreciated.
