Darling Miss Chino needs more Dental work

Donation protected
Hello everyone who has found our little fundraiser, we hope you are all well

Here is our story to date: Well our dear little Chino is still needing ongoing dental work.. her REALLY ROTTEN teeth that we had to remove in the first week of us owning her have still not healed..her is her story since coming into our loving mini herd poor Miss Chino has to date had:

12/5 - Buraba Cuppuchino a delightful 22yr old lady.. DOB 08/10/2002 (oh we were also told she was only 16 when we agreed to take her on trial honest mistake I guess and found out after the 2.5hr drive to collect her that she was in fact 22yrs old) was taken on a trial agreement to hopefully become part of the Giddy up family (unbeknown to us the extent of her much needed dental work)
15/5 - after only 3 days at Summit Hill farm we had her off to the vet to diagnose what was causing her very obvious bad foul smelling breath, nasal and eye discharge. She ended up with sedation, X-rays of face and mouth, and some filing of a few sharp teeth and mouth wash out ($800) the report was not good
17/5 - decided to negotiate a price to purchase Chino, as I felt committed to this little lady now she was in my possession and felt it was in her best interest to stay with me going forward. So an agreement was reached with her previous owner and I became the proud owner of Miss Chino and her road to recovery commenced.
29/5 - today was the first of her dental surgeries she had a massive dental surgery to extract two 2 very rotten teeth one had half fallen out and was pushed back up into her jaw and had rotated sideways inside the tooth socket (ouchies) the other was very badly impacted against the rotated one and a cementoma had grown on the roots of both rotten teeth ($1800)
12/07 - dental, check up mouth wash out extraction site not healing and tooth socket packed with and algonate packing
($109.90)
19/07 - vet visit more sedation for extraction site wash out and she also had foul nasal and eye discharge, gum cavity packed with metronidazole medication and dental packing and a 7 day round of NSAIDs and OABS ($312)
29/07 - sadly more sedation, mouth washout, cavity still not healing well, site looks healthy but it’s just being so very slow to heal over, site repacked ($165)
19/08 - another vet checkup, packing removed, she has nasal discharge and watery eyes again, mouth not foul smelling though. ($210)
26/8 - sadly Miss Chino has not progressed with her healing and we are now concerned she has a oral/nasal fistula for which needs to be diagnosed via CT at Equine Uni Hospital asap.

The cost to date for this little lady’s dental bill for my family is at $3396 and we are going to struggle to find the next lot of money to help Chino going forward.

This lovely little lady will be used in my Equine Wellness program when she is well and her mouth is healed as she has the most delightful personality.

She has put on so much weight and looks beautiful since being in my care. We just need to get her mouth fixed so she can be comfortable ❤️ we are booked for a Facial/head CT on 17/9 in Perth and it’s a near odds on bet she will need major facial surgery after the CT to fix the issue, the poor darling.

She is booked into see a specialist equine anaesthetist and equine specialist maxiofacial vet for her CT. We already know the cementoma extended above her hard palate just not sure what extent of her nasal cavity is involved but the thought process is she will potentially need major facial surgery (removal of facial bones) to transplant a skin flap over the fistula in the nasal cavity in order to close it and help things heal. This fistula is not a result of the teeth removal, it’s there from the years and years of those 2 rotting teeth eating away at her hard palate.. (she must have been in so much pain for so long)

My poor little darling in the 12 weeks we have owned her has experienced so much pain and had so many vet visits, needles and medications. I’ve come this far with her now, I don’t feel like I can stop now, she has been through so much already and this will be potentially life saving surgery.. because leaving that giant hole (which is about 3-4inches long) in her mouth, that keeps getting packed with food and grass, can only lead to a serious infection in the near future, for which the outcome can only be bad for Chino. This mini Mumma is in this up to her neck already and Chino and I are in this for the long haul until she is healed!

SO ANY SMALL DONATION would be so much appreciated.. thankyou for taking the time to read our little story ❤️ I've a feeling that this is going to be a costly trip to to University Equine vet to get our darling fixed as its not an overnight fix for her.

PLEASE PEOPLE .. do not ignore you horses teeth at any stage during their life, Chinos teeth issue is a chronic condition from years of dental ignorance. This darling little 22yr old lady who has stolen my heart with her stoic behaviour, is being the best little patient every time she sees the equine dentist.
