Darlene's Final Resting Place

Donation protected

Hello and welcome to the donation page dedicated to Darlene Sheeran's end of life arrangements.
Tyler Spence would like you to know that he is grateful for your messages of love and demonstrations of compassion as he lives on through the loss of his mother. Tyler admitted to me that he is a proud man who would rather give than receive, and who would rather see to other's needs than ask for help with his own (not unlike Darlene herself). Today, though, he recognizes the importance of bringing together a larger community of people who care for he and his mom and who would be interested in helping him give Darlene the type of remembrance she deserves.

Funerals are expensive, and can often take our friends by surprise when they are tasked with planning and paying for the right arrangements for their particular situation. Tyler and Rachael Spence are humbly asking for your help in raising $6,000 so that we can all do right by Darlene.

A message from Tyler, Darlene's son, and organizer of her memorial:

"My Mom meant the world to me. She did so much for me growing up that just thanking her is not enough. I want to honor her in a very special way. Ever since I was born, my Mom always put me first. She would take me to all my football practices and games, bowling trips, and little league tournaments. She would stay up late when I was little to help me with my school projects, or wash my sports equipment. As I grew older and more independent, she had a harder time accepting that I was capable of doing more things on my own, and I never understood why. Then I started to realize it was because she never wanted to "let go" of me as her number one priority. Anyone that knew her will tell you that she never put herself first, it was always about what she could do for others. As I sat by her bedside until her final breath, I told her how much I love her and thanked her for being my Mom. But, as much as she did for me, those words were enough. I want to honor her memory with a nice memorial and headstone that her future grandkids can come visit one day, so they will know who their grandma was, and so we can keep her memory alive."

Darlene's memorial will be held on November 24th. Details are forthcoming. Any donations made before then will ensure that Tyler's mind will be at greater ease as he prepares to join with the company of others in remembrance of his mom.  This fund will be deactivated on December 1st, should you want to make a donation after the memorial.

Thank you for your donations, for your love, and for sharing the weight of the passing of a friend, a mother, and a family member. It takes a village to keep on when so much is lost. It takes a loving community of people to help others through their darkest days.
