My mother was an amazing person who loved being a mom and loved being a grandparent even more. She was strong, beautiful, smart, caring, and a loving person. Darlene M. Whiteman passed away September 4th, 2021 due to covid complications. She had been at Saint Mary’s in Grand Junction the past 3 and a half weeks. She was on a ventilator for 2 and half weeks. She had underlying health conditions and we knew it was going to be hard on her. She passed away surrounded by loved ones and passed away peacefully.

She worked for the US government for over 30 years and worked for Indian Health Services 20+ years. She loved to travel. Her favorite place to go was Las Vegas and hitting the slots, spa, and shops. She always lived life to the fullest. There was hardly ever a time you didn’t see her without a smile. Her big beautiful smile and those dimples. She lost her life long love partner 4 and half months ago and it brings us comfort she is now with him and her loved ones. This is a difficult time for us but we know she is no longer sick and has traveled on to the spirit world.
