First and foremost I ask each of you reading this to say a prayer for Darlene.
Currently Darlene was diagnosed with Cancer. She has a few spots on her brain along with her lungs, just a few short days after that she found out she has a mass in her gland. As of December 13, the tragic news of Stage 4 Extensive Small Cell Lung Cancer was diagnosed. Darlene has worked at Dayton Country Store for many years. Through those years she has made many friends and many memories. Her smile was contagious her laughter was just what all needed on a cold Monday morning running in to grab a coffee or even a hot summer day getting ready for the lake. Darlene was and will always be the face of Our lil country store.
Although at this point she has no control of most of her face so her beautiful smile has faded and her mobility is holding a wall to walk. As I sit here writing this tears stream down my face, but as she would say “stop that”... or “god only gives you what you can handle, I’m a badass” I prayer for a Christmas Miracle as I pray that each of you who Darlene has touched in one way or another will give something, anything. She has no insurance and the burden of putting her Dr’s bills or future bills on her children as this is a hard pill to swallow. As you all know her children will walk this tragic road with her. My heart knows that the Dayton and Lyman Community has come together in the past, I prayer and hope we can ease the Burden of her expenses. Please take a moment to simply think of a time she made you smile as I know many mornings she made me smile.
