Darlene’s Recovery

Hi, my name is Ryanne. My grandma Darlene or as my close friends and family know her as “Grandma Sunny” was in a horrible accident on March 4th. She was out feeding horses Saturday night and was getting a new bale from the hay loft and the hay hook slipped through the bale and she went flying out of the loft doors 12ft down and landed on her back. She was able to scoot her way in to the barn where she stayed all night in 20 degree weather. She was able to keep herself awake all night and was found by my dad Sunday around 11 am. She was rushed to the hospital where they confirmed she had fractured all ribs on her right side, her pelvis, as well as 4 of her lower vertebrae. Her Kidneys were also struggling due to being out in the cold for so long and her body starting to shut down. She pulled through like a champ and is now recovering in the hospital where she will stay until she is able to move by herself. She will have a long road of rehab and at home care as she will not be able to walk for quite a while. Anyone who knows her knows she works so incredibly hard in life and would still give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She has literally saved lives and now it’s time to help her while she’s down. She owns and is the only occupant of King City Barber Shop and even with all of her injuries and long road ahead she says she’s still not retiring. She will have medical bills, a mortgage, as well as day to day bills that will start to accumulate soon. If you could help even in the slightest we would greatly appreciate it.
