Darlene Prim Medical Expenses
Donation protected
In 2003, our sister Darlene suffered her 2nd cardiac arrest, confirming her diagnosis of a genetic condition called Long QT Syndrome (LGTS). Because LQTS is an inherited genetic condition, her episode revealed the disorder in numerous family members, with our mother being the host. Her tragic episode most likely saved the lives of other family members! Having this condition has restrictions and has affected many areas of her life.
In November 2021, she underwent open heart surgery to repair her mitral valve and most recently, on August 23, 2022, Darlene was found in her home with symptoms of a stroke. We believe at least 8-10 hours had passed from the onset of the stroke, maybe longer. Due to this timeframe, she was not a candidate for tPA. She is experiencing left-sided facial droop, weak left arm and leg and cannot recognize sensation in these areas. After a four-day stay, she was transferred to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital to undergo extensive physical and occupational rehabilitation.
If you know Darlene, you know she is very private and strongly independent. Her medical bills have become out of reach for her to pay independently! Any donation amount you can make is greatly appreciated. If you cannot make a monetary donation, please join us in prayer for a full recover!
