Thanks to generous donations through this GoFundMe as well as private giving through direct payments, we are stoked to report that the Willis family has received over $25,000 in support, and Darla's medical emergency is fully funded! We are deeply thankful for the generosity of our community in this time.

ORIGINAL POST: 

Darla Willis, her husband, Isaac, and their two daughters have been living in Haiti and serving the people there since 2015.

On Tuesday, July 21st, Darla started experiencing severe abdominal pain, and was diagnosed with appendicitis. Due to the underdeveloped medical infrastructure in Haiti, the severity of this diagnosis requires that Darla take emergency MedEvac transportation from Haiti to Florida, so she can undergo emergency surgery to remove her appendix.

The emergency MedEvac transportation from Haiti to Florida cost $20,000, and is not covered by health insurance. There will also be medical fees associated with her emergency surgery that go above and beyond what their insurance will cover. (This GoFundMe will be updated with the financial specifics of her surgery once they are known.)
