Darla Ecklund Needs Her Peeps!
Donation protected
If you've been to The Coffee Shop NE in the last 12 years, you probably know who Darla Ecklund is. Artist extraordinaire, maker of delicious food, lover of pups and friend to all.
Darla left the shop back in March to begin the first of several rounds of chemo to treat Multiple Myeloma. What started as back pain was soon to be found out as Cancer, Multiple Myeloma. Darla is putting up a good fight and needs our support both emotionally and financially. Darla very recently received a Bone Marrow Transplant in an effort to put her Cancer into remission, she goes in every day to receive treatment. Recovery time is expected to be an additional year.
Due to the nature of her Cancer and its treatment, it will be quite a while before Darla is able to return to work. Her husband Craig has taken leave from his job at The Dakota Jazz Club to be Darla's caretaker.
It's difficult to watch someone with such natural enthusiasm for life and people become so drained and exhausted with this struggle to fight this disease. Although being Darla she is maintaining a fighter's badass attitude.
Darla's family and friends ask you to send positive thoughts and energy her way. Unfortunately at this time no puppies, bunnies, kitties, or goats (for now).
In this day and age, we all rely on our villages to get us through. We need to do this for Darla.
We want her to focus on kicking Cancer's ass- not finances.
Any amount is appreciated and helps.
Send your love and let Darla know you are thinking of her.
