DARKROOM EQUIPMENT : CROSS COUNTRY

HI, my name is Jahnavi.

I AM A DINOSAUR ! ! ...CLOSE TO EXTINCTION... one of the last old school black and white large format photographic artists and printers of traditional silver left in this century! This is actually not so far fetched if you consider the state of the industry. I continue to use large format field cameras, you know, the ol' head under the cloth bellows cameras, exposing black and white film and developing and printing each image by hand; hands in the developer and all that stuff. In less than a century, most likely in less than three decades, this kind of fine silver black and white photography will no longer be possible. The commercial decline and availability of this classic photographic tradition will continue to greatly effect the market value of these hand printed archival silver photographs.

My DARKROOM and equipment are currently located in my home state of Georgia. To return my darkroom to Seattle I need to raise money for transporting a 10x20 storage unit full of darkroom and film photography equipment across the country... again... 3000 miles, from Georgia to Washington state! I also need to rent a space so that I can actually use my equipment in ways to support the restoration of my photographic business.
My heart and soul are aligned in my desire to bring my darkroom equipment back to Seattle. Your support will greatly enhance my continued creative work by giving back the tools needed to develop all the film I have waiting and photographs to be printed. I have been an educator for over three decades, and your contributions will also provide continuing support for others to learn and participate in creating their own unique black and white photographic images.
