Teddy has given thousands of children their very first experience with a horse and now Ted needs our help.
Ted became unwell yesterday and was initially treated at the ranch. With little improvement yesterday afternoon he (and his bestest buddy Kenny went along for the ride) was loaded into the trailer and taken over to Camden University Equine Vet Hospital for fluids and monitoring.
Unfortunately this morning at 4am it was advised that Teddy would require life saving colic surgery and as we speak he is on the table.
Darkes Forest Riding School is not a profittable business, in fact running losses year after year to provide a home for otherwise less fortunate horses that we love and a place for people of all walks of life to enjoy them.
Although financially to go through with a $10,000.00 surgery on an aged pony wasn’t viable, the decision rather came down to emotion and the thousands of little hearts that hold Teddy dear.
