Dark Matter Robotics is a community FIRST® robotics team located in St. Tammany Parish / Southeast Louisiana. We are currently an all-girls team of homeschoolers. Our team competed at the Louisiana Regional Championship on March 4th where we earned the Top Award. As the Inspire Award Winner, our team earned a spot at the FIRST World Championship in Houston April 18-22nd. The Inspire Award celebrates the best overall team with the strongest qualities of all the judged awards and who excels both on and off the field. The team that receives this award is a strong ambassador for FIRST programs and a role model FIRST Team. We are honored to be advancing and to represent the Louisiana FTC region.
Our team earned the following recognition at the 2023 Louisiana Regional Championship: Inspire Award Winner, 2nd Place Innovate Award, 3rd Place Control Award, 3rd Ranked in Robot, and Finalist Alliance Captain

The 2023 FIRST® Championship is a culminating, international event for our robotics competition season and we will join thousands of students for the ultimate celebration of STEM and innovation. The FIRST® Championship spans 5 days and brings in over 35,000 attendees to the Houston Convention Center with teams participating from all over the globe.

Founded in 1989, FIRST® stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology”, and was the brainchild of Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway. FIRST is the world’s largest non-profit for kids robotics. “The mission of FIRST® is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators"

Our team is active in our community through various outreach events. We bring our robot to community events all around our parish and beyond, sharing STEM activities, talking with youth and letting kids drive our robot. Our team created summer camps and workshops teaching kids various STEM skills such as coding and building circuits. We enjoy connecting with our community to share our excitement for FIRST®, STEM and robotics.

Thank you for your consideration and support!
