Daris Rink battles Stage 4 Lung Cancer

Hi, my name is Renee Wiebe. I am starting this go fund me page to alleviate the financial stress on my fellow colleague Daris Rink as he battles against Stage 3 lung cancer.

Daris Rink is a well known Borer Operator on Terry Nordmarkens Production crew who has been with Nutrien Allan for the past 17 years. Daris has been sought out on many occasions for his guidance and opinion in operations serving as an immense asset to the production team and the success of Nutrien. He has treated his colleagues with great respect and patience all while instilling confidence in their abilities. On the evening of May 22, 2024 while Daris was getting ready to start his shift he started coughing up blood. Later that evening he went to emergency and after many tests and scans they found a large mass in his right lung. He was then sent to a specialist to perform a biopsy. On June 27th, 2024 Daris got the call that no one wants to hear and was diagnosed with stage 3 Lung Cancer in his right lung. Since then Daris has been off work; focusing on his health. He is currently undergoing Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy followed by another CT scan. From there they will decide which route of treatment is next.

We want to thank everyone that has pulled together with well wishes and donated thus far. Even with health care and insurance Daris and family will incur many expenses such and travel to specialists, accommodations, and of course job loss time. Many are looking for ways to help Daris and family to ease the financial stress as he fights one of the hardest battles of his life.
