After almost 45 years of dedicated service to the Commodore Club East community, our Concierge, Dario Curiel will be retiring at the end of this year.

Dario joined the maintenance staff of our building in 1979 when the maintenance staff consisted of only two employees. They did not have the conveniences of today, no cell phones, no radio devices, and no golf cart to pull the garbage cans. The work was arduous and intense, but he never wavered. When FirstService Residential arrived at CCE in the 90s, Dario got promoted to the front desk position.

Dario has faced many challenges during this time and has many loving recollections. He recounts the wonderful memories of long-term owners and of children who were born and grew into adulthood before his very eyes. Many of the long-term residents remember him staying in the building during Hurricane Andrew and assisting residents and while not knowing how his family was handling it.

During his years at CCE, Dario’s own family also grew. He has two sons and two daughters, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One of his grandchildren, Ashanti, is three years old and has autism. In spite of his long working hours and demanding schedule, Dario proudly takes her to Nova University therapy.

At 80 years old, Dario feels it’s time to rest and enjoy more time with his beloved family. Although we will be very sad to see him go and his fervor and dedication will be sorely missed, we agree with him.
