Darin’s Cardiac Procedure Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
I’m starting this fundraiser for my brother, Darin. He’s 32, works in construction, and is one of the hardest-working people I know. He lives with his girlfriend, Jen, and together they share custody of six kids between them. Darin’s not just an incredible dad to his own three - he’s a loving, steady presence for Jen’s three kids too. Life is busy, chaotic, and full of love - but right now, it’s also incredibly tough.
On Monday, May 5th, Darin had surgery to have a defibrillator implanted due to cardiomyopathy - a heart condition he’s been battling since 2023. It’s the same condition that took his dad’s life while our mom was pregnant with him, so this has been a deeply personal and scary journey. He’d been pushing through it for a while, but it finally got to the point where he couldn’t safely put off the surgery any longer.
Recovery is going okay - he’s dealing with swelling, soreness, and a lot of bruising - but the hardest part is not being able to work. Since Darin’s job is so physical he needs 6–8 weeks off to fully heal. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have short-term disability, and there’s little income coming in while he’s out.
We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to help with:
• Rent and basic living expenses
• Remaining medical bills from surgery
• Groceries and kid-related costs during recovery
Darin’s not the type to ask for help, but right now, he really needs a support system behind him. Whether you can donate or simply share this, it truly means the world to me and our family.
Let’s give him a little peace of mind so he can focus on healing and getting back to taking care of his crew.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
