Darian Rogers

Hi,

I am writing this due to the unfortunate passing of Darian Rogers on August 12th, 2023.

Darian was well known and loved by many in the Nanaimo community. His passing has shocked the large friend group that Darian kept.

I met Darian at Brechin Elementary school in Nanaimo. He was a year older than me, although it wasn't until high school that we developed a very close friendship. It was the kind of friendship where we could show up at each others house anytime, unannounced and be welcomed with open arms. Throughout high school we spent almost every weekend together, and many week days. Whether we were skateboarding, hanging out at the house or getting up to no good, every day was lived to the fullest. It was a friendship that played a large part in who I am today.

Darian and I were both raised by amazing mothers who provided everything we needed growing up. We were also both only children. We had a lot in common and became best friends after the first time we hung out.

There is a ton of people who have a similar story to mine regarding Darian. He would do anything for his friends, and we all knew that. He was loyal, kind and smart. The love for him within our friend group was unimaginable.

His passing was unexpected and has caused overwhelming grief to his friends and family. At this time we are asking for donations to help pay for the funeral service and associated costs. Anything is appreciated.
