Recently I went on a trip to Brazil. While there, my husband and I visited a small elementary school in a town named Aguas de Sao Pedro. It was a wonderful experience.
When we came home, my daughter, Syerra, saw the photos and noticed how old the computers were:
Since she was little(er), Syerra has wanted to attend Yale for college, and she has been looking for a charity project to do for her early resume, and she decided she wanted to take this on as her first one.
It's an ambitious goal, to get enough computers and equipment to allow them to have an actual computer class will cost nearly $35,000, but without setting your sights high you'll never know what you can achieve.
These kids are incredible. They live in a small town hours from a big city and they don't have much access to technology. The community has come together and created a safe place for them to live, but their school is severely lacking. The kids are in school from 7:30 to 5 there, and having computers they can sit down and individually use would make a big impact on their everyday life. Plus access to the internet for research would help broaden their understanding of the world.
Currently, only one of the computers works, and it doesn't have internet access. As we all know, computers are a crucial skill in today's world. These kids will benefit so much from our help.
With that said, this is Syerra's project. She's going to do some of the fund-raising offline, and we will update the gofundme to reflect that as we go.

As Syerra said, let the dares begin!
For every $1000 we raise, that's one computer for the kids and one dare for Syerra to do. Any amount you donate helps, and if you can't then please share with your friends and family. We can make a big difference in these kids lives, and we can give Syerra a good start to her resume!
