Fight for Hayli (Danger) Dennis

Donation protected
Many of you know rambunctious, fun-loving, badger-diehard Hayli Dennis.  What many of you may not know is what she has gone through over the last few years—emotionally and financially—after finding out that she has cancer.  She needs our help!  Here’s her story…

In 2014 at age 26, Hayli was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and underwent 8 months of intense chemotherapy and radiation.  After treatments, she was left with over $150,000 in medical debt just trying to stay alive.

Over the past year and a half, Hayli’s cancer came back—not once, but twice. In January of 2017, a small tumor was found and treated with radiation. It kept the cancer at bay until more tumors were found, back in April of this year. This time, the radiation that Hayli had to receive was more aggressive, making it very difficult for her to work. She worked when she could, but it got to the point where she couldn’t work at all.

Unfortunately, at her follow-up scan on July 10, she found out that her radiation did not work like they had hoped, and part of her original tumor had grown. Again, the tumor is inoperable. This news was devastating for Hayli and her fiancé Cory, who are getting married this coming February.  Hayli was informed that her only options are to wait for an experimental trial to open up (which could take too long) or try holistic routes, which Hayli opted for.  This alternative route involves monthly blood draws and consultations—ALL out of pocket—as well as an extremely strict, expensive diet and supplements, totaling close to $1,000 extra each month.

Earlier this year, Hayli filed for bankruptcy on her original debt of over $158,000.  Only part of it qualified, and $50,000 of that debt remains on her name to be paid back. She filed this before finding out that her cancer was back, meaning that all of the bills and expenses from her recent battle won’t be forgiven and she will be responsible for them. This is already causing concern and stress for Hayli, in addition to the emotional strain, making it difficult to work full-time.  It’s been hard enough for her to focus on her health, but now she has to worry about finances and not being able to afford what could save her life.  Hayli has always been so positive and strong, regardless of what’s been thrown at her; but this time it has taken its toll on her and she needs us.

Your generous contributions and financial support for Hayli will help alleviate her debt, as well as help pay for any treatments and doctor appointments moving forward as she continues the fight to beat this cancer.  It will also help pay down the debt she and Cory accrued trying to stay afloat during her most recent 12 week radiation session when she was unable to work.

Please help Hayli fight—every little bit helps!  Thank you for your generosity and support!!
