On Sunday 8th March 2026 I was selected to represent Great Britain as the Vice Captain of the U19’s Ladies Underwater Hockey Team. It’s a dream come true to play against the rest of the world for the World Cup in Turkey. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Trialing for GB has meant so much to me facing set backs but also growing as a person and now being selected has meant that my hard work and determination is paying off. I am so incredibly proud to have achieved my dream and I hope you can follow along with me.
Underwater Hockey is a fast paced exciting sport that takes place at the bottom of a 25m pool at either 2m or 3m. It requires high levels of fitness, tenacity and a determination to win. Most importantly it requires you to be a team player, you simply can’t hold your breath long enough!! I play for Plymouth and have done so from the age of eight! I’ve also played for Plym Ladies & South West Ladies.
I have been trialling for the GB team for four years attending at least six training camps a year and many tournaments all over the UK. My training regime requires me to play 2/3 times a week with periodisation training six days a week and fitness testing every month including underwater 'Bleep Tests'! My participation has been entirely self funded so far.
Having been selected we commence a three month period of
increased training, team bonding and a trip to the Netherlands to play against teams from across Europe before we depart for Turkey on 15th July 2026.
I am raising money to pay for:
- Travel to further training camps and tournaments
- Equipment and uniforms
- Flights, travel, food and accommodation
