Darcies Fight Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hello friends & family,
As most of you may know, unexpectedly on October 11th 2018 my mother Darcie was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. On the first initial visit we found out that it is Triple-negative Breast Cancer and a tumor that aggressive/enlarged will not respond well to hormone therapy. After a week full of MRIs, CT scans, blood work, and evaluations, today we found out that it is stage 3; the doctor wants to start chemotherapy immediately in hopes of shrinking the tumor. This will be a twelve week process with a follow up to see if surgery is then an option.
Although we are praying for a smooth process, we know it is going to be the farthest thing from easy. I never prepared for the day I or anyone close to her would have to write this, none the less watch her have to go through it. She is one of the most loving and giving people you will come across. She is also one of the strongest people i know. My only wish is that we can help her continue to be strong. The amount of love, encouragement, and advice received is heartwarming; her battle is our battle and we have to help her get through this.
The medical expenses should be the least of her worries, but unfortunately with all the testing, scans, and chemo port insertion, they have accumulated to thousands of dollars in bills thus far due. My mom has been and will continue to balance working, doctors appointments, and now chemotherapy treatments once a week as she must pay her bills. The fear of not being able to fulfill these medical payments is extra stress that we want to help her avoid.
There is not a donation out there too small to make an impact. Even if its just a prayer said or positive thoughts, I know she is so thankful for the support.
A special thank you to Sandy for helping me with this.
