December 18th, 2021, was a typical day for most, but for Darcel, this day changed his life forever. He was violently and senselessly attacked and left unconscious for hours before someone found him and called the ambulance. Darcel immediately slipped into a coma due to blunt force trauma to his head from being assaulted. He wouldn't wake up for weeks. In early February, he finally opened his eyes but was still unresponsive. His movement was limited, and hasn't spoken since that night. After becoming septic several times, with no improvement, his family, on September 30th, 2022, made the hardest decision ever to place him on hospice care. Darcel was the life of the party, someone who would give you his last and be there for you in your time of need. He was someone who wanted to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. His family and friends were there daily for him in any and every way they knew how. Unfortunately, his condition hasn't changed much. Right now, he's in hospice care. It's undetermined how long he has left, but it isn't long; weeks, if not days. His family is asking for your prayers and donations to help with his end-of-life care, i.e., funeral costs, burial costs, etc. If you cannot donate, please share and let everyone know his situation. Anyone wanting to visit is more than welcome, but please keep in mind he is only allowed 8 visitors a day and only 4 at a time. Thank you to those who have visited, those who donate, and those who are praying for him. We know Darcel would appreciate it greatly.
