Darby the Good Boy Dane has Osteochondritis Dissecans and needs surgery on both of his shoulders. Poor Darbs isn't even a year old yet. With his birthday coming up in March, all he wants is this very expensive surgery.

His surgery is scheduled for February 15. The estimated costs at a minimum are $6500, which includes surgery, travel, and post-surgery medication and care, provided there are no surprises or complications. That's a lot for anyone to swing, and Darby's owner is stressing over how to come up with the emergency funds.

Darby lives in AZ with his pet parent, Jen, a full-time high school AP English teacher. The pair love hiking together, but Darby misses his nightly walks around the neighborhood. For now, his movement and activity need to be restricted; so, Darby greets everyone from the porch and spends lots of down-time snuggling.
