My mother, Dara, was in a near fatal car crash Christmas weekend. A distracted driver came over a median and swiped the drivers side of my mothers SUV off. The car rolled twice, and my mother was ejected from the car(she was wearing her seatbelt) She ultimately landed underneath the front of the car, which caused further complications. My father was practically unharmed. When paramedics arrived on scene, they assumed there was a fatality. This awful accident should have killed my mother. She should be dead, yet she is surviving and thriving despite all that has happened to her. She has a broken and fractured pelvis, a lacerated spleen and liver, internal bleeding, road rash, bruises and cuts on her whole body. She has had her knee pinned up, and two metal rods through her hip so far. But despite everything she still is smiling, laughing and loving, just like she has before the accident. My amazing mother has done nothing to deserve this. Of course I hate having to see her like this. I wish I could ease some of the worry about the medical bills, so I am trying to raise money to ease their worry about the little things.
