Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Dunn, and the goal of this fundraiser is to alleviate the financial expenses that come along with my mother’s stroke recovery. I describe Dara as a selfless woman and a beautiful soul with a loving heart. She spreads love and light to her friends and family. Dara has a presence that lights up the room. Someone with a positive attitude and a tough mentality, I wish to become half the woman she is. With her simple smile and genuine heart, she always works to ensure everyone is taken care of before her own needs.
On August 12th at 8:15 pm, my boyfriend, Luke Taylor, found her laying down limp in the bathroom, where she had a stroke earlier in the day. Dara and I live together primarily but I left for school, out of state, a weekend earlier. While going over to say goodbye to our puppy Leia, Luke immediately called me and we knew something was off. She was never late and or would forget something like this. Within minutes of searching Luke, and a few family friends found my mom half-conscious--limp from her right side down. Luke asked Dara if she could smile and she only could use the left side of her face. Further, the ambulance was called to pick up my mother and told the family she had suffered from an embolic stroke in the left hemisphere of her brain. Where she was transported to our local Kaiser hospital in Walnut Creek, CA. Then once at the hospital, the medical staff decided she needed to be transported again to see a stroke specialist in Redwood City CA. Furthermore, a thrombectomy procedure was performed immediately to remove the small blood clot. Moreover, the procedure was successful and now has various CT, CAT, ultrasounds, and echocardiograms taking place. Doctors estimate that on Tuesday, August 17, my mother will be transported to a rehabilitation center to begin her journey of recovery.
Furthermore, while all treatments and procedures are vital to my mother's recovery, the cost of the treatments will hold my mother back from a full recovery. Anything that you can do will greatly assist Dara in her recovery. My mother is a woman who deserves the world, and anyone who knows Dara Dunn can attest to this. This go-fund-me page is set to cover her medical costs, in the hospital, rehabilitation, physical therapy, bill coverage, and any special care needed throughout the journey.
Thank you for your support,
Kaitlyn Dunn & family
