Dara Thornton is a very special person. She and her husband have raised two children, Heather was married last summer and Mary is attending college, In her work in Santa Cruz, Dara has cared passionately for hundreds of children in our Santa Cruz community. Simply put, Dara is an educator.  She carefully plans her curriculum to hopefully meet every child's specific needs.  In her classroom, Teacher Dara is always readily available to focus on the successful emotional  development of our children. Every day she is actively role modeling a positive approach to all situations that our busy preschool students experience.  Dara is currently a teacher at WPEN’s Westside Parent Education Nursery School Teacher Dara is loved deeply by each child.

 

A few months into the school year, Tim was diagnosed with cancer.  Tim works over the hill in the ‘industry’ and has also kept a positive attitude during this difficult time.   He has completed six weeks of treatment, recovery from surgery, and will have another six week treatment to accomplish. Both Tim and Dara have remained positive throughout.

 

Dara and her husband Tim are genuine, loving and generous humans.

 

We are trying to raise money to help ease a bit of pressure of financial burden during this stressful and emotional time for Teacher Dara, her husband Tim and their family.

 

This is one way our Santa Cruz community can give back to another who tirelessly gives to us.

 

The money raised will be given to Dara and will be used at her discretion for replacing lost income, hotel stays, bills, food, and some travel costs.

 

This means so much to us because Dara is greatly involved in our community and in the shaping of our children to become successful people. We want to do something for her that she may not ask for herself.
