Dar us Salamah building
Our aim is to make a positive change in the lives of young people in our local area.
Teenagers today come across many challenges from their peers and choices they make in their everyday lives. The threats of gang culture, knife crime, drugs and other damaging activities are real problems that young people are facing on a regular basis.
It is important that they have somewhere they can feel safe and secure, all whilst building lasting friendships, having fun and bettering themselves as individual people.
We intend to establish Impact Youth Club; an initiative that seeks to provide a dependable environment for Luton’s young people. We need the financial help and support of parents and our local community to achieve this.
Providing this space is the first step of our long-term plan. In the future, we plan to establish Dar us-Salamah; a multi-purpose centre that will present further services and support to teenagers to better their social lives, emotional growth and mental well-being.
In the latter stages of our plan, we will be purchasing our own venue which will allow us to expand our reach to more members of our society, including children, adults and seniors. This would be alongside our ongoing work with teenagers at the Impact Youth Club.
The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the need for such a place for our young people. Over the past year, they have missed out on socialising with friends, developing confidence in themselves and many have experienced the mental strain of living through a pandemic in isolation.
Impact Youth Club will offer them an opportunity to make positive changes to their lives and overall well-being. We passionately believe that we can enable them to make a lasting impact on their lives.
(All proceeds will go towards Dar us-Salamah projects.)
